New: Large transformer station

From mid-2024, the large substation will be a new addition to the Markenburg range.
In reality, these large substations can be found in numerous locations in the Netherlands, as the building has been copied 1 to 1 several times along electrified railway lines.
The example that served as a model for our miniature copy is located in Vlissingen.

Why this message, if the building has been available for a while?
That is because of two special reasons with this building.
- It was developed in collaboration with Wim Mesu. He has taken the trouble to develop and supply details such as the brass parts down to the last detail. But we have therefore decided to stick to a manageable and therefore limited number of sets. This method also appeared to work well more than 10 years ago, at the first series of large substations. This has made us decide to continue with the same approach.
This is different from the other products on the Markenburg website. The product page of the large substations will therefore be taken down once this series of large substations has found a home.
- The second reason is that in recent weeks we have been asked whether the sets are still available.
And it is, at this time of writing. But from those questions we conclude that we have “hidden the substations too well” on the Markenburg website, in the theme "Around the track".
Hence this message with of course a direct link (below) to the product page.

The model is available in both scale 1:160 (N) and 1:87 (H0). More information can of course be found on the product page, while supplies last.
